In 1989 in the production association "FOTON" was organized separate division for development and manufacture of new types of siliceous voltage limiters by special decision of Ministry of electronic industry of USSR which transformed to State unitary company Scientific-industrial complex "KVARK" in Tashkent in 1991. The prior direction of activity of the division is the fastest development and organization of production of the new modern electrotechnical products - semi-conductor voltage limiters (VL) and high-speed rectifier diodes.

Now SC SIC "KVARK" is developed and mastered in a batch production more than 500 types of voltage limiters of various on absorbed capacity of energy of impulses and design performance.
