International conference on attraction of foreign investments to “Navoi” FIEZ

October 21 of this year has become mentionable date for the business circles of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The main reason is holding of the International conference on attraction of foreign investments to “Navoi” FIEZ in the Taskent Interantional buseness center.

During the conference, organized by ADB, IDB and the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations, investments and trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan were discussed issues concerning further development of trade, economic and investment cooperation between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the representatives of foreign companies. Special attention in the conference was drawn to the development of cooperation in Free Industrial Economic Zone “Navoi”, founded by the initiative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov.

The conference was attended by the representatives of Uzbek, Asian and European key Ministries, Departments, companies, concerns, large enterprises and organizations which deal with issues of attraction and realization of investment projects. As a result of the conference agreements on organization of joint activity were signed by the representative of Uzbek business circles and foreign companies which are carrying out activity in various spheres of national economy. In particular, the Association "Uzeltehsanoat" has signed three Memorandums of understanding with intention for further cooperation with next three companies: Malaysian company “Sun system engineering Sdn.Bhd” on manufacture of power transformers, Egyptian company “Universal” on manufacture of gas stoves and water heaters and Turkish company “Prom Holod” on manufacture of compressors for industrial refrigerators. The discussion of project details and terms of bilateral cooperation, including forms and mechanism of cooperation will be considered between the Parties in further stages of cooperation.
